About Our Offerings & What We Do

Folx in the queer community often face increased mental health challenges due to discrimination, bias, and marginalization.

At Releasing the Phoenix, our holistic, inclusive approach provides culturally sensitive care and education that respects lived experiences and builds community resilience.

Sage Nestler, MSW, is also dedicated to incorporating alternative healing methods, such as art coaching and bibliotherapy. Our team and colleagues integrate these methods to support holistic mental health and foster innovative, nurturing healing journeys.

    Preventative Mental Health Care

We are passionate about providing preventative mental health care education and programs. Our programs teach folx skills to manage and monitor their mental health in a way that reduces the risk of developing mental illness.

We also provide programs for parents and caregivers on ways to support children.

Preventative mental health care, like preventative care in physical health, addresses emotional challenges and skills-based coping to avoid the escalation of mental health concerns.

Free & Low-Cost Virtual Support Groups

We offer free & low-cost online peer support groups open to folx in the LGBTQ+ community. We're working on choosing the most requested topics to base groups on.

Education for Professionals on Highly Stigmatized Disorders & Conditions

Many mental health issues carry a strong stigma. This can prevent individuals from receiving kind and compassionate care, which can worsen these conditions. We offer education about these issues from queer mental health experts who have lived experience.

Some of the disorders and conditions we provide education on are:

    - Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)

    - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

    - Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)

    - The Autism Spectrum

Articles on Mental Health & Queer Concerns

We provide articles on various mental health conditions and queer focused topics. We frequently feature queer folx in the mental health space and highlight their work and perspectives.
